Gemstones: Regional Names

Gemstones have been used as the remedy since the ancient times, across varied cultures. Over the course of centuries, several regional and colloquial names have been developed for all these astrological gemstones. Lesser information about the regional names can leave you clueless while purchasing the Gemstone.

Any addition or editing to the name should not leave us confused. Very often self-created or less-known names are exploited to confuse people. With such names, it becomes hard to find the Gemstone in the market and finally, we are forced to buy from the astrologer himself, as he is the only one who knows his self-created coded names. The fact remains that there is only nine planetary Gemstone as per Vedic astrology. Any regional or colloquial name refers to one of these nine planetary stones only.

It is always advisable to ask the English Name of the Astrological Gemstone.
